Certificate III Allied Health Assistance

This qualification reflects the role of allied health assistants who provide assistance to allied health professionals under predetermined guidelines. Depending on the setting, work may include following treatment plans for therapeutic interventions and/or conducting programs under the regular direct, indirect or remote supervision of an allied health professional.

COURSE UNITS

HLT33015 Certificate III Allied Health Assistance will consist of the following 11 units (8 core and 3 elective units). You will be required to undertake 80 hours of vocational/work placement (WP) in an approved setting.

Am I eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee Funding?

We are able to offer our courses under the Certificate 3 Guarantee which is government-subsidised training program for eligible students living in Queensland.

Certificate 3 Guarantee program supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school certificate III qualification.  It also supports school students to access training and Year 12 graduates to transition to employment by providing free training in high priority qualifications.

Payment Options

Up Front Payment

When you enrol the total amount will need to be paid.  This could be the cost of the full fee for the course or the student contribution amount if you are eligible for a subsidy or concession.  Any upfront fee that exceeds $1000 a payment plan will apply.

Payment plan

If you have difficulties paying for the full cost of a course or the course exceeds $1000, you may be eligible for a payment plan, which will be negotiated upon enrolment.

Study Options

Classroom learning (Virtual and In-Class) provides a complete learning experience for students. Conducted in a class environment is a great way to learn face to face or via video conference and facilitated by industry professionals skilled at making the class experience interactive. Our learning spaces are well equipped for in-house simulations and workshops.

Courses may have a combination of online and classroom-based learning. Students are expected to undertake additional personal study to complete the course requirements.

Selection Criteria

As part of the selection criteria for this program, it is highly recommended that students:

  • are aged 16 years or older by the course commencement date
  • have successfully completed Year 10 (or equivalent) or are of mature age
  • have basic English reading and writing skills

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Placement

If you are not currently employed or volunteering in this industry, you are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of placement to satisfy this component of your qualification.  Completing placement is compulsory and you’ll be required to work shifts which include early morning, late nights of any days of the week including public holidays.  TESS may be able to assist in arranging suitable placements.

A Current National Police Check (Not more than 3 years old).  Please be aware if you have a criminal history, you may be disqualified from being eligible to undertake this course.  If you think this might impact you, please call TESS consultant for further information.

It’s also recommended that all students should undertake screening for vaccination against the following Queensland Health Mandatory vaccination requirements such as:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)
  • Varicella zoster virus (chicken pox)
  • Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza (Flu)
